Serving clients in the Barrington, Newport County, and East Bay markets, Maria has lived and worked in Rhode Island for over 30 years. She first came to Rhode Island to study at the University of Rhode Island and fell in love with the state's coastal communities. Today, she is an experienced local real estate advisor excited to help clients discover the area’s unique beauty and charm.

Tell us about your professional experience up to now.
Over the past three decades, I’ve developed my own brand of hands-on real estate, having bought, sold, and renovated homes, as well as owning rental properties. Working with my husband, a remodeling contractor, I offer clients insight into construction, renovation, and waterfront properties throughout the state.
My skill set extends to small business management and digital marketing, which I used to build my own charter boat business in Newport. From custom web design to targeted campaigns on Google and Instagram, I bring a marketing strategist mindset to every transaction.
What made you join Residential Properties?
It’s a family-owned and family-run business that is deeply connected to the community and genuinely cares about its reputation. Having lived in Barrington for the past 25 years, I already have relationships with many of the agents in the office. Some of the women here have been with the company for five decades and still come to work with the same passion every day — that says a lot about the culture. It truly feels like family.
Where are you originally from? Where do you live now, and what do you like about it?
I grew up on the shores of Cape Cod, so Barrington felt like home from the moment we arrived. I’ve lived here for 25 years, and my children went through the Barrington school system, which I’ve found to be excellent.
Tell us about your family life, home life, and free time.
We moved to Barrington when my kids were preschool age and quickly joined the Barrington Yacht Club — many of our summers were spent with them in dinghy sailing camps. In our free time, my husband and I enjoy sailing in the afternoon winds, and gardening is a bit of a secret passion of mine. There’s always a project going at home, whether it’s bringing new life to a piece of furniture or planting something new in the garden.
In what ways are you involved in your community?
I served on the board of the Barrington Community Center for many years, and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with them when the building reopens next month.
What are you looking forward to now that you’re with Residential Properties?
I’m excited to help people see potential — a home with great bones, in a great community, that just needs a little vision. I’ve worked hands-on with renovation design, creating space, bringing in natural light, and connecting indoor and outdoor living. So many people struggle to see past the clutter or the unfinished projects to imagine what life could look like — that’s where I hope to help.
