Residential Properties Ltd. is proud to announce that the company’s President & CEO Sally Lapides was recently celebrated by the Greater Providence Board of Realtors® (GPBOR) for a remarkable achievement – 50 years of membership and service to the local real estate community!
The recognition took place on September 10 at the board’s 119th Annual Meeting held at the Squantum Association in East Providence. Lapides was recognized along with other members who have dedicated multiple decades to professionalism and excellence in real estate. The GPBOR 50-year Milestone Award celebrates members who have continuously supported the organization and its mission to uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in real estate. Sally had the distinction of being the only board member who achieved the 50 year milestone in 2025.
“It is humbling to be recognized next to so many talented professionals who share a deep love for this industry and community,” Lapides said. “The real estate business has changed dramatically over the past 50 years, but what has remained constant is the importance of relationships and the trust our clients place in us.”
Lapides, who co-founded Residential Properties Ltd. in 1981, has been a driving force in shaping Rhode Island’s real estate landscape. Under her leadership, the company has grown to become the state’s largest independently owned real estate firm, known for its commitment to integrity, innovation, and exceptional client service. With offices across the state and into Southcoast Massachusetts, plus a team of 240 sales professionals, the company’s continued success reflects Lapides’ lifelong passion for real estate and belief in giving back to the community she serves.
Lapides’ son, RPL Broker Manager Ian Barnacle, attended the event and remarked on her amazing hard work, success, and influence in local real estate.
"It snuck up on me, but when I saw people speak about my mother's dedication to her clients, her colleagues, and the industry of the years, I felt really inspired," Barnacle said. "She’s taught me everything about this business, particularly that real estate is not just buying and selling homes; it’s building relationships, and being part of our communities, and creating a culture that's honest and worthy of people's trust. I’m proud to work alongside her and to carry forward all of her values .”
