A native Rhode Islander, Karen offers clients a smooth process whether they’re first-time buyers, downsizers, or anyone with changing needs.
Living in Barrington, she is a familiar face on the sidelines at her son Colby’s soccer games. You’ll find her all around the Ocean State enjoying new experiences with her husband Victor at local beaches or finding a new favorite restaurant. Describe the talents and services you offer clients that others can’t.
“Aside from just loving to work with people and being amazed by the array of homes our area has, I offer an ability to see beyond what’s in front of me. In my work, I’ve really enjoyed renovation projects and new builds because I can somehow sense the best way to use a given space. When clients work with me, they are able to use me as a source for design and customization ideas to make any property feel like their home. From my years in the business, I’ve amassed a great Rolodex of vendors and community resources to get any project across the finish line.”
Can you tell us about the community service or volunteer work you do?
“Being part of the Barrington community, I’ve had perfect opportunities to give my time by volunteering within the school district. As a former elementary school teacher, I know firsthand the work involved in operating a school; as a person focused on organization, detail, and bringing things to fruition, it’s a great use of my skills. I also love to donate time to local animal shelters. I believe it’s important to give extra care and attention to those who do not have a voice.”
How do you make the most of living in Rhode Island?
“Growing up as a New Englander is truly a unique experience. I believe there is something for everyone in this multi-faceted, diverse region. Beaches, mountains, culture, entertainment, and the incredible food are just some of what makes this area of the country so special and so accessible to people coming in from out of state. Because of Rhode Island’s tight-knit nature, you can meet someone who is connected with a friend or family member at almost any time. It binds us all together in a nice way.”
What’s your non-work life like?
“Well, work, community, and family all get mingled together, particularly in real estate. My relationships are very important to me, which is why I’m typically with family and friends when I have free moments. I’ve been with my husband for 20 years and my teenage son Colby is an amazing soccer player. I love watching him play and admire the man he is becoming through shared team experiences.
And just to make sure life doesn’t have a chance of getting dull, we have a Wheaten Terrier named Mario and a mini goldendoodle named Ruggie who share our home. They’re basically our babies and require lots of love and cuddles from us. In the warmer months, you’ll see us cruising around the bay in our boat or swimming and relaxing at a local beach. I also started to learn to play guitar, but I plan on keeping my day job for now!”
