Residential Properties Ltd. is pleased to announce that Sales Associate Lexi Cardoso has been added to the roster of outstanding real estate professionals at our Providence office. An RI native and current resident of Providence, Lexi is here to guide folks through selling and buying homes all over Rhode Island and coastal Massachusetts. She is a pro at all aspects of relocation, having worked with clients from San Francisco, Louisiana, the Carolinas, and many other parts of the country. From a young age, she knew she wanted to help others, which initially led her into the fields of hospitality and veterinary care, but her love of architecture, local artisans, and design made it clear that real estate was her true calling. Her smart advice is here to help RPL clients make the best choices and reach their goals.
We spoke with Lexi to learn more about what inspires her, how she has made her mark in local real estate, and why, after proper deliberation, she decided to join RPL.
What about RPL felt like a good fit for you?
“Residential Properties has remained independently owned after 41 years in business. Though it is run as an independent company in true Rhode Island fashion, it has the structure, reputation, reach, and resources one would expect from a much larger organization. I strive to provide my clients with top-notch service and am proud to have the RPL brand behind me.”
Describe your previous role in real estate. What skills will you be migrating over to your work at RPL?
“As an agent in my fifth year, I've accomplished significant growth in my business year after year with over $7.8 million sold in 2023 alone. I look forward to continued, sustainable expansion and taking advantage of the in-house education and skill building provided by RPL.”
What is your non-work life like? How do you spend your free time?
“My wife Hayley and I love taking walks through Providence's gorgeous cityscape to enjoy the array of nighttime amenities. It’s so much fun just exploring upscale cocktail bars, along with the ever-growing speakeasy scene, and sampling the variety of culinary experiences. In the summer, we often drive to Newport and Narragansett to relax at the beach before snacking on as many local oysters as the season allows! In the fall, we love to hike in Smithfield's bountiful trails and cap it off with a visit to our favorite farmers markets.”
Can you tell us about the community service or volunteer work you do?
“My wife and I have volunteered for the Pawswatch Community Cat Center in Johnston for five years. It's an organization dedicated to reducing the feral cat population in Rhode Island through TNR (trap, neuter, release). These feral cats receive medical care, food, and shelter under the organization's nonprofit program. As a bonus to their mission, friendly cats are adopted out to homes or barns. Additionally, I serve as advisor to the Career and Personal Development Chair and to the Facility Manager responsible for on-campus housing operations at the Chi Omega women's fraternity at URI.”
What do you love about Rhode Island / the New England area?
“With every year, I appreciate more and more how Rhode Island carries a rich history that’s reflected in its homes and architecture. I grew up in Rhode Island's East Bay, in the Bristol and Warren area, later lived in the Riverside area of East Providence, and now live in Providence, where I plan to enjoy city living for years to come. The four seasons are wonderful in New England, but what I love most about Rhode Island are all the different lifestyles, city, coastal, and rural, within easy reach and ready to enjoy.”
What are you most looking forward to about joining RPL?
“I'm looking forward to pushing my professional limits in 2024 – all while delivering the 5-star service I take pride in. With the resources and premier marketing I now have at hand, I am confident that this year will be my best yet.”
