Residential Properties Ltd., Rhode Island’s leading real estate company, begins 2024 grateful for its agents, community partners, and wonderful clients after a superb year of making homeownership dreams a reality. In its 42nd year of business, Residential Properties continues to deepen its roots in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. From the company’s start, its belief in compassionate action and flourishing communities has made it the trusted local brand that leads the way in people-focused service.
Brimming with new talent
When clients work with RPL agents, they’re making connections with multi-talented professionals who provide broad local and global networks. Throughout Residential Properties’ nine offices, new sales associates brought forth fresh perspectives and great energy in 2023. Whether an agent is in their second decade or their second year, the dedication and special spark unique to RPL’s real estate advisors is ever-present. Our buyers and sellers can expect to work with trusted experts who bring not only smarts, drive, and high-touch service, but also all of the skills and experience unique to each individual. Among our agents hired in 2023 are an expert preservationist, a woman whose family ran the Point Judith Lighthouse, a student of cognitive neuroscience, a speaker of both Hindi and Urdu, and the co-founder of a full-service design firm – among many others! Every agent at RPL brings a constellation of talents to help clients achieve their greatest dreams.
The company’s Marketing team also saw expansion of its skills and capabilities with the addition of Senior Marketing Advisor Sean Garrity. Coming to RPL from Lila Delman Compass where he oversaw marketing, advertising, graphic design, and agent support, Sean had an intensive year enhancing and perfecting each agent’s branding and individual marketing needs. Delivering attention-grabbing visual communications with a hands-on approach, he brought invaluable insight across the company, as well as game-changing strategic thinking and creative execution.
As part of the Executive Team, RPL’s Chief Strategy Officer, Brandyn Brunelle, who officially came on board in December of 2022, administered a top-to-bottom examination of RPL’s marketing practices and agent services. Coming to Resi from Compass, where he served as lead of their East Coast luxury division and for over five and a half years as a member of the leadership team at Lila Delman, Brunelle focused on RPL’s strategy formulation and management. With new vision, strategic efforts, and initiatives, he played a critical role in maximizing Residential Properties’ growth opportunities, clarifying and brightening its brand identity, promoting the corporate culture, securing new partnerships, and supporting agents across all nine offices.
Proving that relationships are what count the most
In 1981, Sally Lapides and six other women disrupted a male-dominated industry to create Residential Properties Ltd. Through four decades of continued growth and sure-footed leadership, the company has weathered changes in the market and dramatic world events to achieve the stature, market share, and a brand reputation that people trust.
“Real estate has always been a people-facing, people-focused business,” RPL President & CEO Sally Lapides said. “We evolved into hybrid work during the pandemic, but are very much back to a more normal market and face-to-face business practices, collaborating in person to achieve the best results. As ever, we continue to engage with and support the communities we serve. I have a quote on my desk from Winston Churchill, that reads, ‘We make a living by what we get, and a life by what we give.’ I’ve always believed in the power of this simple motto and am proud of our agents and colleagues who embody its spirit every day. When clients partner with Residential Properties, they’re establishing relationships not only with trusted real estate advisors, but with well-rounded people committed to the greater good.”
Firmly rooted in the community
RPL’s presence in the real estate landscape was bolstered in 2023 by fresh updates to its branding, including a new logo and a restructured marketing/public relations team. A new location for the company’s Little Compton office at 50 Commons provided excellent exposure in the center of town. The company continued to empower agents and colleagues through innovation, while remaining committed to the guiding values that have propelled its success.
Seizing growth potential in the local commercial landscape, RPL Commercial furthered its reputation with significant sales and increased presence. This distinct arm of RPL’s operations is committed to helping clients understand and navigate the intricacies of commercial real estate. Investors, occupiers of space, and other commercial clients continued to see return on investment, while varied cities and towns saw exciting new ventures come to life to meet changing needs.
The company also excelled in significant sales for the year, including the highest commercial sale in Cranston for 2023 and the highest home sales in several municipalities, including Lincoln, Pawtucket, and Scituate. The truest measure of RPL’s growth in 2023, however, is the many ways the company supported our communities.
Residential Properties’ sponsorships over the year helped support an array of causes throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. From Arts Alive! and the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors® Have Heart campaign, we’ve been proud to be part of these important efforts through charitable giving. Other contributions included but are not limited to: Barrington Little League, East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island, Lincoln High School Athletics, NewportFILM, Providence Preservation Society, Rhode Island PBS Foundation, Sakonnet Preservation Association, Trinity Repertory Company, and the Westport River Watershed Alliance.
Agents across all RPL offices are passionate about their communities and are active participants in a variety of organizations. Whether it’s bringing music education to underserved areas or putting on a one-woman show to benefit the Boys and Girls Club, we are immensely grateful for all of our agents’ efforts in and out of the office in 2023 and look forward to another year of supporting our sellers, our buyers, and our communities. RPL wishes all of its clients and colleagues a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
