Coming to America and coming to RPL
Umid booked a one-way ticket to the United States as a teenager and hasn’t looked back, living in Foster, the East Side, and now Cranston. The beauty of the state won him over, a favorite spot of his being Napatree Point Beach in Watch Hill. A lover of historic architecture and driven to achieve, he swiftly earned his license and entered the world of real estate. “I love New England for its rich historical significance, picturesque coastline, and idyllic beaches,” Khaitov said. “Throughout its existence, our region has been the first stop for many new immigrants coming to America. Umid is a young professional recognized throughout Rhode Island both as an agent and as a neighbor. He is extremely involved in the community of New Englanders originally from post-soviet countries. In 2018, he created a Facebook group for all Russian-speaking people of RI and Southeastern MA, with current membership of almost 1,000. The start of prolonged conflict in eastern Europe in recent years found him playing a leading role in a local group assisting Ukrainian refugees and their families with settling in RI and starting new lives here.
