Residential Properties Ltd. is excited to announce that Broker Associate Lisa Jones has joined the talented team of real estate professionals at our Providence office. Lisa grew up in Rhode Island, living in Riverside until age 13 and then on Providence’s Smith Hill. Since high school, she has lived predominantly on Providence’s East Side but has also resided in Cranston. She lived in Florida beginning in 2000 and served on the Minneola City Council for eight years, organizing a community mural project to brighten up a section of the South Lake Bike Path. “This project is one of my proudest professional accomplishments,” Jones said. “We were able to raise funds, secure artists of various ages, and bring to life more than 20 beautiful community-themed murals, creating a bright, cheery space for locals and visitors to enjoy.”
Formative years in Florida
Real estate became her career in 2007, coinciding with the Great Recession; a time of constricting lending rules and dropping property values. This particularly precarious time proved pivotal in shaping Lisa’s expertise as a Realtor® and advisor. “The recession was a tough time for many,” Jones noted. “I am grateful that I got into real estate when I did and was able to help so many people navigate one of the toughest times in their lives.” She earned her broker’s license in 2015 and decided to open a boutique brokerage in Florida. In 2021, the end of her two-decade marriage signaled the need to return to Rhode Island, a place her heart never stopped calling home.
Earning her RI broker’s license in 2022, Lisa began researching the top local brokerages. “I chose Residential Properties in Providence because it was clear I’d be joining a group of dedicated professionals focused on working together, which is refreshing in such a competitive industry,” Jones added. “I was also attracted to the tools Resi provides and the fact that they have a sizable, in-house marketing, photography, and videography department – another rarity!”
Reuniting with Rhody
For Lisa, family life revolves around her daughter, a recent graduate of UMass Boston, and two adorable kitties that helped her adjust to life as an empty nester. She maintains an active lifestyle full of reading, spending time with friends, dancing, and dining at some of the state’s best restaurants. She has made the transition back into Rhode Island living easily and happily. “I love soaking in the beauty of RI,” Jones said. “We have an amazing history, and a state founded by one of the greatest independent thinkers of our time, Roger Williams – one of my idols.”
As she begins another pivotal point in her professional life, Lisa is keen to settle into the RPL family, from its robust continuing education offerings to its community engagement. Mainly, however, she is brimming with a love for the Ocean State that she is excited to share with her clients. “This state is unlike any other,” Jones said. “It’s been called, ‘the biggest little state in the union,’ and I wholeheartedly believe that. We’ve got the city, beaches, wooded nature trails, rock climbing, and some of the most stunning views in the nation. I know people who take our state for granted, but after two decades away, I am lucky to once again be able to call this amazing and diverse place home!”
