Residential Properties Ltd. is pleased to announce that Sales Associate Lauren Arpin has joined the expert team of professionals at our Cumberland office. Raised in Cumberland, Lauren has extensive knowledge of the RI and MA markets and is licensed in both states. She graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport with a B.A. in psychology. Her degree allows her to assist clients in navigating the emotional experience of buying and selling a home or property. Additionally, her interior design skills, honed while studying abroad in Italy, assist customers in preparing their homes for the market. Innately gifted in matching people and properties, Lauren is also certified in Relocation Services and Military on the Move.
Interiors & the inner child
As a travel enthusiast, she spent a semester abroad, visiting eight countries and studying interior design at the Lorenzo de' Medici Institute in Florence, Italy. However, having grown up in a family in love with the ocean, her roots are firmly on the east coast. "The ocean is my happy place," Arpin said. "Rhode Island’s small size allows for a great feeling of community where everyone knows one another, which not many places have. Being close to my university and the Salve/Newport community is also a great benefit – it's like a second home to me."
Real estate and interior design were an interest of Lauren's from a tender age. Though she pursued the field of psychology, working at Butler Hospital as a mental health worker and activities therapist, she eventually could no longer ignore her desires. "That's when I reached out to my old neighbor, Sales Associate Ali L'Heureux, one of our agents here at RPL Cumberland," Arpin added. "She was the one who put me in contact with Broker Manager Ryan Antrop. They encouraged me to start, and it all blossomed from there."
Springing into a new career
Community and giving back are foundational values instilled in Lauren's upbringing. After college, she spent a year as a youth and elder refugee specialist with Catholic Charities in Nashville, Tennessee completing a year of volunteer work with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. She remains in touch with the Former Jesuit Volunteer community and continues living life guided by their four main values of social justice, spirituality, community, and simple living. Lauren also remains curious about the global village, so she can often be found planning a new trip for her and her friends. Naturally energetic, she also makes time for bike riding, rollerblading, motorcycling, and visiting car shows with her father.
As the busy spring market commences, Lauren is excited to set new challenges for herself and hit the ground running in her new career. "I have always held myself to a high standard of goals and expectations," Arpin says. "As of now, I'm focused on building my real estate business. Down the road, the goal is to incorporate interior design into the picture, but for now I'm ready to learn about all the tools that RPL offers to help my clients get where they want to go. I am very proud to be with RI's #1 real estate company."
