Residential Properties Ltd. is excited to announce that Sean Garrity has joined the company’s Marketing Department as its Senior Marketing Advisor. Sean comes to RPL from Lila Delman Compass where he oversaw its marketing, advertising, graphic design, and agent support needs. He brings to Residential Properties an impressive level of experience helping sales associates promote and sell homes throughout Rhode Island and beyond.
An expert in real estate marketing and a lover of all things design, Sean provides an eye for detail and a talent for crafting attention-grabbing visual communication. With a hands-on approach, he will be working across all of RPL’s locations to lend a consistent look and tone to agent marketing initiatives. He is also skilled at high-level strategic thinking, budgeting, and creative execution.
Sean is a native of Braintree, MA, but has lived in Rhode Island for more than 10 years, acquiring a deep understanding of the local market. Living in Newport with his fiancé Brendan and their Portuguese Water Dog named Fela, Sean makes the most of each day enjoying the state’s amazing coastal splendor.
How did your career in real estate begin?
“I have always loved homes and architecture. Living in Newport, I am lucky to be surrounded by incredible history and beautiful buildings. I began my real estate career working in an administrative role, but quickly found that real estate marketing was a skill and passion of mine, leading me to a new marketing role at Lila Delman.”
Did you and RPL Chief Strategy Officer Brandyn Brunelle work together while at Lila Delman Compass? What kinds of services did you provide there?
“Yes, Brandyn and I worked together very closely for almost five years. He is an incredibly creative marketing professional with a great eye for branding and strategic business planning. Brandyn and I spearheaded two major rebranding efforts in our time working at Lila Delman Compass.
My role at LDC was to provide full service, high-touch marketing to our roster of 100-plus luxury agents. My goal when working with sales associates is to eliminate barriers between ideas and execution. I aim to provide a quick turnaround; as we all know, real estate is a fast-moving industry.”
What made you choose to join RPL?
“Residential Properties is a family-owned, woman-founded business that prides itself on its Rhode Island roots. Having worked at other real estate firms, it is clear to me that CEO Sally Lapides is committed to making RPL feel like home for its clients, its employees, and its sales associates.”
In what ways will you work with RPL agents?
“My ethos as a marketing professional is this: coming to us with requests or ideas should always feel like a walk in the park. Getting told ‘no’ never feels great. Instead, I always try to accommodate a request, even if we need to get creative.”
What is it about the RI / MA area that says “home” to you?
“Growing up in Massachusetts, we often took summer trips to the Cape rather than RI, but I was fortunate to discover Rhode Island’s beauty upon my first visit to Salve Regina University and fell in love with the history and location of Newport. It is a small detail, but smelling the salt breeze coming off the ocean in summer or fall in Newport has such a specific scent; it will always remind me of ‘home.’”
What kinds of creative projects do you like to do outside of work?
“In my free time, I take on graphic design projects for friends and for fun. For example, I am currently doing the graphic design for my close friend’s wedding. They love music, so their wedding will loosely resemble a music festival with stages, multiple acts, and a merch stand. I love the direction they chose. These projects allow me to stretch my creative legs in different ways.”
What will your first order of business be now that you’re on the marketing team?
“RPL is the number one real estate firm in Rhode Island for a reason. My first goal is to take a holistic look at the current marketing offerings to better understand what is being utilized by our sales team, what is most effective, and what can be enhanced.”
