RPL Sales Associate Jim DeRentis, AKA The Providence Real Estate Guy, will become the cable guy with an appearance on a new episode of HGTV’s “House Hunters” this Tuesday, March 14 at 10 p.m.
In the episode, a San Francisco couple looks to move back to Rhode Island to a larger home in Providence. Though they both like the charm of historic homes, he wants a place with a renovated interior while she prefers something with quirks. Jim filmed the show recently, taking the couple to three of RPL’s Providence listings, 135 Ardmore Avenue, 26 Rhode Island Avenue, and 91 Fosdyke Street.
“The entire experience was a lot of fun, and I have a new appreciation for what happens behind the scenes filming a television show,” DeRentis said. “I was very happy to be able to show off my hometown for the country to see. We know it’s special and now the HGTV viewers who didn’t know about Providence will too.”
Jim DeRentis is Residential Properties’ Top Producing Sales Agent and the only nationally ranked individual sales agent on Providence’s East Side. He has been a recipient of the Circle of Sales Excellence Platinum Plus Award each year since 2011 when he was named Rookie of the Year. Jim was included on the REAL Trends list of “America’s Top Real Estate Agents” and was named to “The 1000” in 2020. In both 2021 and 2022, he was named the #1 individual agent in the state for transaction sides, achieving over $109 million in transaction volume, and in 2022 was the #1 agent in the state for both volume and transaction sides.
