Residential Properties Ltd. is pleased to announce that Sales Associate Patty Peelen has joined the dedicated team of real estate professionals at our Newport office. Patty has been marketing and selling homes with expertise and integrity for over 25 years in a career which has included owning her own agency. She is licensed in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Florida, and has earned certifications as a Buyers Agent and Historic Home Specialist. Patty shows clients the gems in every historic neighborhood and village, with a special fondness for farms and waterfront properties.
Changing tack
Real estate has always been Patty’s passion, especially when it comes to helping buyers find their dream homes. Whether it’s a fixer upper, a rose-covered cottage by the ocean, a Newport historic home, or a summer retreat in Little Compton, she puts all of herself into advising clients. Residential Properties’ family-run, collegial atmosphere played a significant role in her decision to join the brokerage. “In addition to the company’s reputation and position as the #1 agency in Rhode Island, it’s a very people-first atmosphere,” Peelen said. “From the administrative support and management, to their seasoned agents and even their marketing, this company understands the importance of personal connection.”
Originally from Dartmouth, from which she sailed her 47-foot boat every summer on Buzzards Bay, Patty now savors life in Newport. Prior to her real estate career, she was a chef on charter yachts that sailed from Newport and the Caribbean Islands. She is also a member of Sail Newport and the New Bedford Yacht Club, through which she enjoys affiliation with both the Newport Yacht Club and the Ida Lewis Yacht Club.
The wind in her sales
Patty is eminently qualified to extol the virtues of The Ocean State to today’s buyers and sellers. Locals often find her walking her dog Brandy on the beach and setting sail for adventure on the water. Following in the footsteps of her parents, she also makes time to volunteer at the Newport Preservation Society.
Embarking on this chapter of her career, she looks forward to sharing her talents with a range of clients. With her love of history and coastal living, she is excited to begin a new year with a new brokerage. “As a sailor and a RealtorⓇ, I cannot wait for the spring,” Peelen noted. “Hopefully there will be favorable winds for both the sea and the housing market.”
