Residential Properties Ltd. takes pleasure in announcing that Sales Associate Heather Mason has joined the expert roster of agents at our Newport office. Heather is a motivated and accomplished professional with a background in healthcare, leadership, donor relations, and hospitality. With more than thirty years in the healthcare industry at renowned hospitals such as Massachusetts General and New England Baptist, she has worked tirelessly as a physical therapist, hospital leader, facility manager, and within donor stewardship.
“Paging Sales Associate Mason”
Real Estate has been in the back of Heather's mind for more than a decade. Her passion for service led her to want to help people not only find the right home, but also find everything they need to connect to the community. Born in Swampscott, MA, Heather moved to Minnesota at age nine and stayed through college, earning a B.A. from both Saint Olaf College and the University of Minnesota. She moved back to Massachusetts in 1992, having missed the East Coast lifestyle, particularly the ocean and sailing. Heather then spent the next 26 years between Boston and Marblehead before moving to Newport in 2014 and falling in love with the community.
As a licensed real estate agent, she is eager to provide a seamless process for buyers and sellers. Heather wanted to join an agency with similar priorities, offering the tools and services that help agents support the client experience. She was well aware of RPL’s reputation for being one of the top brokers nationwide. “They are an amazing company that continues to grow successfully,” Mason said. “When I walked in, it was a warm, welcoming experience. The collaborative and supportive relationships and the environment between agents is what ultimately sold me on Residential Properties.”
Helping people live well
Heather and her husband Mike live in beautiful Portsmouth at Sea Horse Farm, a nearly 12-acre horse and lavender farm which they purchased in September of 2020. With an ever-widening network, she has a considerable history of volunteering, including involvement in the Clagett Sailing Volunteer and Fundraising Committee and the Newport Flower Show. When not assisting her clients, Heather enjoys running, sailing, cooking, gardening, and playing with her 8-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever named Georgia. One of her most treasured pastimes is visiting her two grandchildren in California, Zoe and Isaac.
Beyond sharing her love and passion for Aquidneck Island and the surrounding communities, Heather is excited to connect with more members of the region and to help them find their dream homes in a diverse range of prices and neighborhoods. “There is a home for everyone,” Mason said. “That’s what’s unique about New England. The process is about the client, so my role is to support them, to understand what they want, and to show how they can create deep community ties through the process.”
