Residential Properties Ltd. is pleased to announce the addition of Broker Associate Andrea Belanger to the team of real estate professionals at RPL’s Providence office. In addition to providing clients with listing services, broker price opinions, buyer consults, and more, Andrea brings to RPL a love of Southern New England and an enthusiasm for its history and architecture.
Bands and brands
Born in Fall River, Andrea is a native New Englander. “We have the privilege of experiencing the best that each season has to offer,” Belanger said. “There's something about life on the East Coast that's different from anywhere else in the country.” She is the daughter of a carpenter and a real estate agent, to whom she attributes much of her professionalism and work ethic. She arrived at her current career in a unique way, however, through rock ‘n’ roll. “Music and real estate may seem worlds apart, but the time I spent as a touring and recording musician shaped who I am as a broker – creative, resourceful, empathetic, and determined,” Belanger noted. “Being the only woman and leader of a six-piece rock band straight out of college was a bit like herding cats! Real estate can be much the same; it's a juggling act of staying ahead of dates and deadlines, plus extreme focus and coordination.”
As an agent, Andrea was determined to partner with a brokerage ready to meet her needs as a marketer, strategist, lender, inspector, and estimator. Her research pointed to RPL as having the strongest East Side market share and the most impressive brand presence. “I've had my eye on Residential Properties since I became licensed back in 2016,” Belanger said. “The company is a force of nature here in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. You can barely drive down any Providence street without seeing the iconic sign,” Belanger added. “When I bought my house on the East Side this past fall, I knew I was looking for a change of brand.
A new gig
Another value Andrea’s father passed down was giving back to the community. She grew up volunteering with her dad, who was the founding president of the Narrows Center for the Arts, a non-profit devoted to visual and performing arts which played a significant role in her becoming a musician. Other community initiatives include her involvement in preservation. “During the pandemic, and even though we are both residents of Rhode Island, my dad and I served as board members on the Fall River Preservation Society,” Belanger said. “Historic preservation and creative re-use are very important to me as a person and as a broker. Most recently, I've joined the Summit Neighborhood Association as their newest board member and am excited to take part in their mission to serve our East Side community.”
With her partner Shawn, an 11-year-old cat named Beethoven, and a one-year-old Bluetick Coonhound called Juniper, Andrea spends free moments renovating her 1800s East Side farmhouse with her father. Her hope is to build an urban homestead that will blend her love of historic preservation and sustainability. As she begins her new venture with RPL, Andrea is excited to bring to her clients not only her talents, but genuine trust. “I'm looking forward to becoming a greater community resource as a broker and seeing my relationship to the field change and grow over time!” Belanger said. “At the heart of my business is a desire to prepare my clients with the education they need to make confident and informed decisions unique to their goals. Whether it's navigating multiple offer situations or laser-focused listing strategy, I always have my clients' best interests in mind. In real estate as in music, I feel it's all about the personal connections we make along our paths.”
