Residential Properties Ltd. is excited to announce that Sales Associate Helen Macdonald has joined the superb roster of agents at our Providence office. Helen’s real estate experience includes over 15 years at another major Providence brokerage. She is licensed in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and is in the process of earning her Relocation Specialist designation.
The journey home
Helen was born and raised in Rhode Island, growing up on the East Side of Providence and spending summers in South County. She attended Elmhurst Academy in Portsmouth and graduated from Newton College of the Sacred Heart in Massachusetts, now part of Boston College. She is a proud New Englander with exceptional area knowledge and a profound appreciation of the region’s charms. “I love how much Rhode Island has to offer,” Macdonald said. “To me, it's a little jewel with its beautiful coastal communities, its history, and its architectural marvels – to me it’s home!.”
Upon graduation, Helen went to live in NYC for 10 years, working as a paralegal and then for Mead Data Central 's marketing department. Helen returned to RI to raise her children and be near her large family, living in Bristol before moving to Providence’s East Side in 1992. As an experienced Rhode Island real estate agent, Helen was aware of Residential Properties’ reputation, a primary factor in her choice to join the company. “I wanted to join Residential Properties for many reasons,” Macdonald noted. “Its market share, of course, is enticing, but just as important, the firm's professionalism and high standards were apparent throughout my many years as a Realtor®. To become part of a brand with such a defined and consistent level of quality is essential.”
Family – personal and professional
Helen is devoted to the people in her life, whether they be her clients, her family, or the greater community. She has proved an invaluable board member for Meals On Wheels and has also served on the advisory board for The Gordon School in East Providence. Her two children, Jamie and Hope, are fully grown but remain an important part of life. Last year, Helen also took on the role of grandmother as LA-based son Jamie and his wife welcomed Isla Hope Macdonald to the family. Her daughter Hope lives in Brooklyn, New York and is an artist specializing in printed accessories, apparel, and bespoke pieces.
With a new position at RPL and exciting changes all around, Helen feels energized for all the possibilities ahead. “I am truly fortunate to have wonderful friends and family,” Macdonald said. “I love being active and enjoying all that the region has to offer. Now that I’m a part of the Residential Properties family, I am looking forward to working with such high-quality professionals.”
