Residential Properties Ltd. is excited to announce that Sales Associate Lisa Berrios has joined the fabulous team of agents at our Cumberland office. Until now, Lisa’s career was in the travel industry, first for her family's agency in Woonsocket, and years later moving to New Orleans to work for the Delta Queen Steamboat Company. After several years, she moved back to Rhode Island, rekindling her love of the east and its four seasons. “There are so many things to enjoy all year long in New England,” Berrios said. “I am an avid gardener, but also love winter sports, especially skiing. Many ski areas are so close, as are the beautiful beaches in the summer.”
Lisa was born in Gardner, Massachusetts, moving to Cumberland at age five where she lived for over 20 years. After graduating Cumberland High School, she earned a degree in business administration from Bryant University with a major in marketing.
A traveling life ‒ a pivoting career
The considerable effects of COVID on the travel industry led Lisa to consider a change from her position as Director of Sales for two local extended stay hotels to a new career as a Realtor®. Her sales responsibilities had included pairing all kinds of people and housing. “I focused on long-term-stay sales to companies relocating new recruits looking for permanent housing,” Berrios noted. “I was also tasked with searching on behalf of home sellers in between selling and buying a home.” Having lived in Providence, Woonsocket, and Barrington and having worked in sales in Warwick and East Providence, Lisa has attained a rare level of local knowledge, an asset to anyone beginning in this busy real estate market.
A friendly lunch with retired RPL Sales Associate Sandy Soares was the final push Lisa needed to join our Cumberland office. “Sandy couldn't say enough wonderful things about the company,” Berrios said. “It is important for me to associate with a company that operates with professionalism and integrity. I am very impressed with the training and support I’ve received from Residential Properties and the awesome team I get to work with!”
Going the distance for clients and community
As she embarks on this new journey, Lisa looks forward to leveraging her years of experience providing excellent customer service, superb attention to detail, and lasting client relationships. “I have spent most of my career in marketing and sales,” Berrios added. “I hope my familiarity with navigating the sales process will help local sellers and buyers achieve their goals.”
In addition to enjoying time with her family at her home in Albion, Lisa leads an active life of varied interests and community involvement. An avid ice-skater since her teens, she was an instructor and eventually a director of the Cumberland Skating Association. She has also worked as a health and fitness coach for Northern RI Community Services and taught health classes at several senior centers in northern Rhode Island.
