Residential Properties Ltd. is pleased to announce that Sales Associate Joe Powers is joining the fabulous team of agents at our East Greenwich office. Joe has worked successfully in sales, marketing, and advertising in both management and training roles for more than 20 years. After attending Rhode Island College, Joe worked his way up in the corporate world to upper management and, ultimately, a trainer on the national level. “I enjoy working with people, collaborating with others, and helping others achieve goals ‒ providing a win-win for everyone involved.” Born and raised in Cranston, Joe enjoys Rhode Island living with his wife Julie and four children. One thing that has kept him in the state is its vast natural resources. “I love the water. I spent four years in the Coast Guard. I love the fact that Rhode Island has over 400 miles of coastline, despite being the smallest state.”
A foundation of trust
Joe’s journey to becoming a Realtor® began 10 years ago when he started his own real estate investment business, Foundation Investments, Inc. Buying, renovating, and selling multiple properties across Southern New England, Joe became well versed in real estate transactions, construction, and everything in between. Leveraging his corporate training skills, he continued to hone his real estate knowledge by traveling across the country, teaching others to develop successful investment companies. “I've learned a lot about how real estate works and what it can do for those who invest the right way,” Powers noted. “I can narrow it down to one thing, ‘real estate equals relationships.’ If you can create a relationship based on trust and respect, the business will continue to grow.“
Trust and respect were important for Joe as he deliberated which real estate agency to join. From his previous experience, and from his sister, Sales Associate Beth DeSista, he had a strong idea of which company had the right reputation. “My sister Beth came to Residential Properties a few months ago,” Powers said. “She confirmed everything that I heard and witnessed about RPL. The team has already supported and helped me with catering to our clientele with the best tools, training, and direction.”
Building a customer service reputation
As Joe begins, he plans to empower his success with information and careful preparation. “I like to educate buyers on what they're buying, making sure they are getting the best deal possible,” Powers said. “On the sellers side, having sold multiple investment properties, I know what it takes to stage a house so that it appeals to more potential buyers and leads to a quicker sale.” He looks forward to serving clients throughout Rhode Island, beginning with building his business in Western Cranston, Warwick, Scituate, and Johnston. “My goal in the short term is to create a clientele based on customer service that will translate into long-term clients and referrals.”
