RPL’s Jim DeRentis Named to REAL Trends “The 1000”

 

Recently, we had an article on the REAL Trends 2020 List of "America's Best Real Estate Professionals" highlighting some of our agents who have been such a great success this past year. REAL Trends keeps track of sales numbers and they have additional lists, including "The 1000". This list is comprised of the 1,000 most successful agents nationwide, and we are proud to say that our own sales associate, Jim DeRentis is among them. In fact, DeRentis made it on the lists for both sides and sales volume, ranking at #166 and #154 in the country, respectively. We caught up with him to get his feelings on being included on these prestigious lists. 

It was a nice surprise and I am grateful to be included with such fine real estate professionals nationwide. When I set out in this business just over 10 years ago, I chose a career that I loved and wanted to develop meaningful and lasting relationships. I strive to represent my clients' interests as best I can and that has helped me to grow the business over the years. I do over 100 transactions per year and that means helping many clients to sell or buy their homes.  Volume speaks to prices of homes, and transaction sides speaks to numbers of clients. I feel proud to be able to help as many folks as I can succeed in reaching their real estate objectives.

Like Jim said he has been in this business for a little over 10 years and has seen a lot of success. When asked about how he reached this level of achievement, Jim’s #1 tip was, “Always put the client's needs first and you will be a success.” 

Jim tries to become a trusted advisor to his clients, and provides them with counsel that extends beyond the closing date. He continually re-invests in his business, providing clients with an abundance of promotional and sales tools.

Jim is constantly evolving and never becomes complacent, even after learning of his place on "The 1000". He is vigilant and researches the best practices in the industry to gain inspiration. He seeks out the best partners in order to deliver his clients with the best range of services, allowing him to earn their trust and respect. That way his clients can feel comfortable and will refer him to their family and friends. 

DeRentis was one of three Rhode Island agents to be named on the sales volume list, and one of only two on the transaction sides list. DeRentis says, “I feel very proud to be represented on this list as a native Rhode Islander. We are a relatively small market and it's very satisfying to have made the list. I feel I have the strongest brand in Residential Properties Ltd. and that helps me when competing against other brokerages. Being the top agent at the number one brand in the state is a great honor.” 

We are quite proud as well to have Jim on this list representing not only Residential Properties, but Rhode Island as well. 

We asked Jim if he had any other tidbits of wisdom to share with everyone, and he did have one more. He said, “Be a good sport. Treat clients, colleagues, and competing agents with respect and it will come back to you tenfold.” 

We appreciate Jim’s words and couldn’t agree more. The numbers don’t lie.
