Of course, every Rhode Islander has their own favorite doughnut shop and doughnut. Listed below are five popular choices for satisfying a sweet tooth in the Ocean State. 
The legacy of Allie's Donuts began on June 1, 1968 when Frederick "Allie" Briggs opened up shop. Since then, it has remained family-owned, and is currently operated by Allie's daughter Anne and her husband.
