
On June 2-3, 2017, the Providence Preservation Society (PPS) will present the Festival of Historic Houses in the Upper Elmwood Historic District. The festival will grant guests self-guided access to more than one dozen private, historic homes. It will also coincide with a neighborhood fair and the third annual PVD Fest, representing aspects of the area’s rich art, architecture, and cultural diversity.
The Festival kicks off with A Night at Knight: Festival of Historic Houses Preview Party, 6:30 – 9:00 pm on Friday, June 2, at the Webster Knight House (c. 1897). Tickets are available at providencehousetour.com, cost $125 and include Saturday tour admission. Proceeds will benefit PPS and the Knight Memorial Library.
Self-guided private house tours will take place on Saturday, June 3, from 10:00 – 4:00 pm. Guests will have the opportunity to tour Upper Elmwood’s distinct architecture, ranging from Queen Anne Victorian to Colonial Revival style. Saturday registration begins at 9:45 am at the Knight Memorial Library, 275 Elmwood Avenue. Tickets will be $35 for Elmwood residents, $45 for PPS member, and $55 for all other guests.
