Residential Properties Ltd. is proud to announce that Rich Epstein of our Providence office has been named REALTOR® of the Year by the Greater Providence Board of REALTORS® (GPBOR).
Epstein has been a member of the REALTOR® Association since 2007 and was selected as the Acting President in April 2015 to complete the remainder of the 2015 term for Donna Andrews, the former President and now CEO of GPBOR. Epstein was formally sworn in last October, and was President for 20 months.
A licensed broker in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Epstein has been with Residential Properties Ltd. since 1999. When President and CEO Sally Lapides recruited Epstein 17 years ago, he explains he “wanted a career where [he] could automate systems and focus on client development as well as work one on one with people.”
Epstein is humbled by this recognition saying, “There are so many excellent agents working out there that I just feel fortunate to be named.”
Epstein credits his success to self motivation, and using technology to help streamline his day. His affiliation with RPL, he says, helps when meeting clients for the first time due to its great reputation. While the reputation gets him through the door, he says it’s up to him to keep the level of service and expertise up to those expectations.
For agents starting out, he advises, “Don't try to market to the world. Start with who you know and create systems and checklists etc. to get the word out and stay consistent with it. Most of your business is going to come from people you know and their friends [and] family.”
