St. Patrick's Day 2016: Things to Do

Looking for ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Rhode Island and Southeastern  Massachusetts? We have a few ideas to get your planning started. From restaurants and bars to 5Ks and parades, there's something for all ages. Cardinal2016Saturday, March 12 –  Newport Saint Patrick's Day Parade The 60th Annual Newport Saint Patrick's Day Parade kicks off this Saturday, March 12  at 11AM. It runs from Newport City Hall to Carroll Avenue at Saint Augustin's Church. The parade lasts about two hours and includes Pipe and Marching Bands, Fife and Drum Corps, Clown and reenactment units, as well as several local, state, and regional organizations. Saturday, March 12 – Finn's Harborside St. Patrick's Day Party Be prepared to celebrate all day at Finn's Harborside. Also on  Saturday, March 12, the East Greenwich restaurant hosts its annual St. Patrick's Day Party starting at 11:30AM with great food and drink specials. The Garda Irish Band starts at 4PM in their main lounge and goes 'til close! Sunday, March 13 – The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Pawtuxet Valley St. Patrick's Day Parade The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Pawtuxet Valley  holds their 57th St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday, March 13  beginning at 1PM at the West Warwick/Coventry town line on Washington Street and ends at Columbus Circle. Thursday, March 17 – Trinity Bar's St. Patrick's Day Celebration Trinity Bar in Norton, MA has their St. Patrick's Day Celebration on Thursday, March 17 opening at 10AM with a special Irish Fare Menu going all day as well as prizes and giveaways. Live Irish Music starts at 3PM and their "After School Special" begins at 7PM.logo_pats Saturday, March 19 – Guiness St. Pat's 5k & Providence St. Patrick's Day Parade It's that time of year again! On Saturday, March 19, the Guinness St. Pat's 5k begins at the Rhode Island Statehouse at 11AM. The Providence St. Patrick's Day Parade kicks off an hour later at noon at the same location. Sunday, March 20 – Nissan Village St. Patrick's Day Road Race On Sunday, March 20, Nissan Village Hosts their 4th Annual St. Patrick's Day Road Race beginning at North Attleboro's Hockomock Area YMCA at 10AM. The 3.6 mile run raises money for the YMCA's  Reach Out for Youth and Families Campaign. Saturday, March 26 – Guinness Shamrock Shuffle 5k Finish off the St. Patty's Day celebration with North Kingstown's Guinness Shamrock Shuffle 5k on Saturday, March 26. The race  begins at 10AM starts and finishes at NK High School.
