It's the season of giving and Residential Properties Ltd. is doing its part to give back to Rhode Island communities in need. Each year, throughout our five offices statewide, we participate in various charities to help fellow Rhode Islanders prepare for the holidays. Our Cumberland office, led by Manager Holly Applegate, recently visited the Boys and Girls Club of Cumberland and Lincoln to assist with their current renovations by painting the Teen Room. They also collected food, clothing, and toys for Cumberland’s Happy Basket Program - designed to aide those in need throughout Cumberland in time for the holidays. In addition, the office is donating most of their desks, chairs, and dividers to the Boys and Girls Club in order to provide them with quality workstations and furniture for their newly renovated rooms.
Every year, the Providence office participates in the Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-
Family program. 2015 was a big year for the Providence team, as they were able to provide all the gifts on each wish list, while also giving each family a $200 gift card for additional shopping. All together, they raised $1,300 - a new record for the office. Our East Greenwich office members did their part by contributing to Operation Holiday Cheer, where they donated items to the East Greenwich Chamber for the RI troops serving our country. Donations were also made to the Amos House in Providence, an organization that "provides hospitality and direct services to the homeless and poor of Rhode Island." They also collaborate with other agencies to address issues like hunger, homelessness, and poverty.
This year, the Narragansett office made a monetary donation to the Johnny Cake Center, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families by assisting with food, clothing, and household items. Their goal is to eliminate hunger in Rhode Island. In Barrington, they adopted three families from the East Bay Women’s Resource Center - an agency dedicated to domestic violence prevention–with a total of nine children. For the entire month of December, the office also had two food donation bins: one to benefit the RI Community Food Bank and the other for TAP-IN (Touch A Person In Need) that aids families in the East Bay with food, household items, clothing, and more.
