Recently, a group of 14 agents from Residential Properties Ltd. successfully completed the first phase of Floyd Wickman’s S.M.A.R.T. Program, a referral and relationship based training program helping agents expand and improve their business. As a result, each of these agents have earned their designation as a Certified Referral Associate.
Run by Sheldon Spiegel, the S.M.A.R.T. Program (which stands for Spaced training, Mandatory activity, Accountability, Role play, and Teamwork) is considered by many to be the most modern sales and relationship training program available in real estate today.
Nancy Compton of RPL’s Providence office describes the class as being perfect for newer agents because of the “enormous amount of information.” She said, “The program improved my knowledge of the industry and what is necessary to succeed.” Compton also said she would recommend the class to others–especially newer agents.
One of RPL’s newer sales associates, Robert Williamson of the Cumberland office, took part in the class because he was looking to obtain the skills and knowledge to become a better Realtor®. “I learned the skills to generate referrals with past clients as well as potential future clients,” Williamson said. “What I learned I implemented immediately during my listing presentations [which] led to a much clearer and efficient listing process.”
RPL’s East Greenwich agents were particularly involved in the program, including Tim Silvia who served as the Class Leader while providing general assistance to Spiegel. RPL’s Carolyn Drumm acted as the Strike Leader, assigning "strikes" to team members that didn’t follow the program, while Pamela Burdon handled responsibilities as the Team Leader. This team won several program awards and was dubbed the “A Team.”
