WaterFire will be one of the many attractions at the PIAF
It's no secret that Providence has a vibrant art scene, evident by the public art installation at RPL’s corporate office. However, this weekend the city is going global with the Providence International Arts Festival, held this Saturday with additional events from the June 11-14. Produced by FirstWorks, City of Providence, and Providence Art Culture Tourism, this new signature four-day event is concentrated in Kennedy Plaza and showcases talent from around the world, including over 500 artists, 40 public art installations, 21 venues, 14 stages, seven outdoor bars, and three jaw-dropping spectacles according to
FirstWorks' website. The family-friendly events on Saturday are free to the public, while there are extended events starting Thursday the 11th, some on which require tickets and can be seen
here. Among the extended events is the
Providence International Art Festival Opening Night Party held at the Providence Biltmore. For more information on the festival, including a schedule of events and maps, visit the
FirstWorks website.
