This week, agents from Residential Properties Ltd.'s Cumberland office were proud to contribute to Cumberland's
Happy Baskets Program. The Happy Basket Program has been helping Cumberland families in need since 1992 by assembling and distributing food baskets and toys over the holiday season. The program expects to distribute over 700 food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.
Every November, volunteers meet on a Thursday night to assemble 300 baskets for Thanksgiving. The baskets are then distributed to Cumberland families the following week. The Happy Baskets Program is also looking for donations and volunteers for the Christmas season. The Basket Assembly is held Thursday, December 18th, with
additional events the following week. Anyone interested in volunteering to sort donations, wrap gifts or assemble baskets is asked to call Lee Drury at 334-2555 at the Cumberland Senior Center or John Johnson at 487-1282. Food and toy donations are encouraged to be dropped off at the Cumberland Senior Center where volunteers assemble the baskets. Donations can also be made by check payable to “The HAPPY Basket Program” and mailed to P.O. Box 7611; Cumberland, RI 02864. For more information, please visit
