Valentine's Day Menus For Romance

Deciding where to take that special someone on Valentine’s Day can be a difficult choice, especially with all the fantastic restaurants Rhode Island has to offer. Location, atmosphere, and menu should all be carefully considered before placing a reservation. With that in mind, here is a quick guide to some of the state’s best Valentine’s Day destinations. Most Romantic The Spiced Pear (Newport) - Showcasing an open-air kitchen, grand fireplace, and breathtaking views of the ocean, The Spiced Pear has been included on OpenTable Diners’ Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America each of the past two years. Executive Chef Thomas Duffy will be presenting a five-course Valentine’s Day menu for $85 per person. Located within The Chanler at Cliff Walk luxury hotel, guests also have the opportunity to stay in one of the mansion’s exquisitely appointed guest rooms for the night. Basil’s of Narragansett - Located just a block from the beach, Basil’s has been offering a fine dining experience to its customers since 1984. In 2013, it was named one of OpenTable Diners’ Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America. Basil’s offers a French Continental cuisine, including Duck a l’Orange, Roast Rack of Lamb Dijonnaise, and even Frog Legs Fine Herbes. By Location Providence County: Capital Grille - This nationally renowned steakhouse is known for its dry aged Porterhouse, but also offers fresh seafood dishes and an award-winning selection of over 5,000 wines. The Capital Grille was selected as one of the Top 10 Best Overall Restaurants by OpenTable Diners’ Choice. Washington County: Seasons at the Ocean House - Located along Rhode Island’s south shore, Seasons offers a farm-to-table inspired menu delivering the freshest ingredients and flavors. The atmosphere is enhanced by its open exhibition kitchen and stunning views of the Atlantic. Newport County: Castle Hill Inn - Referred to as “quite simply, the best spot in town” by the New York Times, this restaurant is set in one of Newport’s grand mansions overlooking the Narragansett Bay. The restaurant will be offering a four-course menu for $98 per person. Kent County: Siena - Serving a mix of authentic Tuscan cuisine and traditional New England seafood, Siena has been voted Best Restaurant in Rhode Island four times by RI Monthly’s Readers’ Poll Bristol County: DeWolf Tavern - Situated in a historic warehouse originally built in 1818, DeWolf Tavern will be featuring a five-course tasting menu on Valentine’s Day. Special Valentine’s Day Deals Aldrich Mansion (Warwick) - Located on over 70 private acres, the Aldrich Mansion is offering a three-course prix fixe menu for $145 per couple. This includes gratuity, taxes, complimentary glass of champagne, and live music during cocktails. Mill’s Tavern (Providence) - The Tavern on Broadway is featuring a special three-course menu offering items such as oysters on the half shell with pink peppercorn mignonette, bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese, Spanish mussels, pomegranate duck breast, filet and shrimp, chicken Milanese, and porcini mushroom ravioli for just $50 per couple.
