This Saturday, March 23, Residential Properties Ltd. (RPL) and its Barrington branch are proud to be sponsoring the 2013 Nayatt School 5K. The seventh annual race is organized by the Nayatt Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) with all proceeds helping to fund programs for Nayatt School children, including classroom equipment, playgrounds, physical education programs, music and language classes, library book purchases, and more.
“This is a great way to engage with the community and support a good cause,” exclaims RPL Broker Manager Ian Barnacle, who is one of several RPL members who will actually be participating in the race. RPL, which has been a long time sponsor of the event, will be staffing a booth during registration and throughout the races. Rhode Island’s premier real estate company will be handing out free giveaways, including RPL keychains and grocery bags, while also displaying an iPad listing presentation. The event will provide a full day of activities and expects to draw over 1,200 participants and spectators. Registration opens at 7:15 a.m. at the Nayatt Elementary cafeteria where those taking part in an event can pick up their race number, giveaway bag, and t-shirt. The Kid’s One-Mile Run kicks-off at 9 a.m. and is followed by the Kid’s ⅓-Mile Run and 50-Yard Dash at 9:30 p.m., as well as the start of the 5K race at 10 a.m. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each of the kid’s events, while a $100 cash prize will be given to the top overall male and female finishers of the big 5K race. An additional $200 will be awarded if a runner manages to break the course record, while other prizes will be presented to the top three male and female finishers of the 5K from each age group (10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+). Participants and spectators may also take part in a raffle to help raise further proceeds. Those who bring a nonperishable food item for the Tap-In donation will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win several great prizes. Attendees can also obtain three additional raffle tickets for every purchase of Nayatt Custom Socks, which are priced at $10 per pair and utilize
moisture wicking COOLMAX® fabric and a mesh top to allow for faster transfer of heat from your feet. The race itself is sanctioned by USA Track & Field (USATF), while the course, which runs through the neighborhoods surrounding Nayatt School and along the shores of the Barrington River, is certified by USATF Road Course Certifier Ray Nelson.
