This week Rich and Steve had Christine Hannifan, Executive Director of the Housing Network of Rhode Island in the studio to continue their discussion about affordable housing in Rhode Island. Housing Network RI is an association of twenty non-profit Community Development Corporations (CDCs) whose members have created thousands of affordable housing units throughout the state. Building high quality affordable housing is one of the best ways to help support strong neighborhoods. When you buy a home from one of the coalition members, you get a house that is in top condition and built to last. This week Chris was excited to showcase the high quality, affordable homes that their members have available for sale ranging in price from $59,000 to $210,000 in nine communities across the state. They will all be open next Saturday, October 27th, from 11-2. There are 18 properties throughout Barrington, Richmond, Charlestown, Westerly, Woonsocket, Pawtucket, and Providence. There are single family homes, duplexes, townhouses, and condos available. Many are brand new construction and some are “like new” rehabs where all the systems have been replaced and virtually everything is new. This Week’s Real Estate Insight: In addition to providing affordable housing, The Housing Network of RI members have the resources to work with you to help you buy and keep your home. The community organizations that develop and build these homes are dedicated to making sure your homeownership experience is successful. For more information visit www.housingnetworkri.org
