They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. And for those of us who have adopted animals from shelters, never has an expression rung truer. In the capital city, we have the Providence Animal Rescue League, an organization which has been finding abandoned and unwanted animals a place to call home since 1913. On September 22nd, Pet Walk, one of the League’s annual fundraisers, will return to Roger Williams Park in Providence after a two year hiatus. Kicking off at 10:AM, the day will include lots of things worth barking about, like canine competitions and demos, a doggie day spa, and a canine costume contest—this year’s theme is FOOD! So animal lovers, get your leashes ready. This will be a fun event for all dogs (and their humans). Cats are also welcome, but good luck getting one on a leash.
