IMPORTANT: Providence Homestead Tax Exemption Deadline

Last month, Sally appeared on The Money Pro$ and discussed how high property taxes effect everyone, especially during recessions. She pointed out “One thing every homeowner should do is make sure you have every exemption coming to you: Homestead, Senior citizen, Veteran, disability, etc.” In Providence, homeowners must reapply for the Homestead Tax Exemption no later than March 15, 2012. As stated on the official website of Providence, Rhode Island:
To claim the homestead exemption, homeowners must provide a vehicle registration AND a copy of a Rhode Island driver's license with that address OR a homeowner's insurance policy OR an automobile insurance policy.
