This week on my radio show, Ian Barnacle, Steve Tetzner and I will be hosting our annual special segment called “The Super Bowl of Real Estate.” As is our custom, we will discuss the elite of the real estate market and showcase certain high end properties. Our cutoff starts at $1 million for a list price. In Rhode Island this usually represents about 5% of the properties offered for sale. In the NFL, the host of the real Super Bowl, each of the two elite teams has a 6.25% chance of being one of the survivors playing in the final game and a 3.125% chance of winning the overall championship. In our real estate world, there are 7173 properties currently on the market throughout Rhode Island, and slightly over 370 have list prices of 1 million dollars or more. Only the elite properties are good enough to warrant a price tag over the million dollar mark and even fewer make it higher than that. You can see these properties on our site by using the advanced search feature and filtering for properties over the $1,000,000 figure. Residential Properties currently has about 50 such properties in our inventory. You can review them as we talk on Sunday. It’s like having your own personal program for the show.
