The results came in with the fall foliage drive gathering the most votes (Newport’s Oktoberfest was way behind - must be the bridge thing), but we thought it was best to give you a guide to them all.
This Columbus Day weekend over 300 artists and hundreds of thousands of visitors will flock to Scituate to participate in the annual Scituate Art Festival. Set on the quaint Village Green, attendees will get to view and purchase unique art, crafts, sculptures and antiques. (Pet lovers please note: pets will not be allowed at the Festival this year. However, service animals are welcome.) The Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular opens at the Roger Williams Park Zoo on October 7th and runs through the 31st. Showcasing thousands of intricately carved pumpkins with scenes from both popular culture and history, this spectacular is a must see! True to the theme of Biergartens, bratwurst and Bavarian music, the 18th Annual International Oktoberfest will take place this Columbus Day Weekend in Newport. With the best German food, music and culture, there is something here for all ages. There are several farms across the state that offer tractor drawn hay rides. If you are in the Northern RI area, try Adam’s Farm in Cumberland, or if you’re coming from South County, visit Shartners Farm in Exeter.
