Waterfire Providence', a Rhode Island claim to fame thanks to artist Barnaby Evans, is back in 2009 with its first of 9 full lightings throughout the summer. With college commencement celebrations this weekend, the event on Saturday is sure to be well attended. New this year is The Fire Flower Project, a joint effort by Waterfire Providence and The Groden Network, a non-profit organization in Rhode Island that provides educational and treatment services for children and adults with autism and other related developmental disabilities. The project seeks donations as they are turning the WaterFire braziers into fire-colored flower baskets to be enjoyed between WaterFire events. The flower baskets will be maintained by clients of The Groden Network. What's New At Waterfire? Find out this Saturday!
