Waterfront Property

This week Rich and Steve had Anita Langer from our Narragansett office in studio to talk about buying waterfront properties. If you are thinking about buying a second home, you are not alone, some 14% of all homes purchased last year were vacation homes. Here in the Ocean State, we are fortunate to have so many beautiful coastal areas in all price ranges. In fact, there are 1,019 waterfront/waterview properties in MLS, priced from from $30,000 to 23 million, It is easy to get caught up in the beauty of our waterfront, but when you are buying a coastal home, make sure you use your head as well as your heart, keep resale in mind, there is also maintenance, Coastal and DEM regulations, financing, erosion, storms, and taxes to think about. This Week's Real Estate Insight: Follow your heart but use your head when buying coastal property, it will almost always be a good investment. Listen to the Podcast:
