Dory Skemp is a full-time Realtor® who works closely with her clients during some of the most significant transactions of their lives, helping them make informed and confident decisions. With more than 30 years of cumulative experience in buying and selling homes, she enjoys the daily challenge of finding creative ways to share her knowledge and guide clients through every step of the process.
While Dory’s professional careers in higher education and real estate may seem worlds apart, they share many similarities. Set against a backdrop of detailed paperwork, regulations, contracts, and applications, both fields have allowed her to work closely with people to understand their needs and to achieve their goals.
Today, Dory’s role is to help her clients confidently navigate the many steps involved in answering “How do I buy or sell a house?” She provides clear guidance, practical knowledge, and steady support from the earliest planning stages through closing.
Living in Rhode Island – where many homes date back 100 to 200 years – Dory has developed a natural specialty in historic properties. As the owner of a historic home herself, she understands both the rewards and the responsibilities that come with them. Her bachelor’s degree in historic preservation also gives her a deep appreciation for the architecture and significance of these homes, along with a practical understanding of what it means to live in and care for any property, whether newly built or centuries old.
