Her outstanding legacy of community involvement began in childhood and continues today. Her grandparents, then her parents, owned the Harbor View Nursing Home in Jamestown and instilled in Carol an enduring sense of care and concern for people. In addition to Friends of Jamestown Housing and the Jamestown Parent Teacher Organization, she is involved in numerous local organizations that help maintain a robust artistic, educational, and social fabric to the community, including Jamestown Arts Center, Jamestown Baseball, Conanicut Island Sailing Foundation, VHBC Pride, Jamestown Soccer, Jamestown Community Chorus, Friends of Jamestown Housing, and Jamestown Community Theatre.

Carol's life is also a lively mix of time spent with her children and grandchildren and moments enjoying ballet, theatre, and classical music. Her idea of bliss is an afternoon sailing or swimming at Mackerel Cove.
