Tiverton is a town in Newport County that was transferred to Rhode Island in 1747 from Massachusetts. In the early days, the town was a farming community with also fishingand boat construction. Today, Tiverton is known for its historic buildings in the town's Four Corners and its fine arts, shops and antiques.

Tiverton is has over 7,500 residents, but brings in visitors because of its rich history and many attractions. The Tiverton Four Corners is a historic district in the center of town.
