 Set up/schedule utilities

 Update charge accounts, credit cards

 Update profiles on frequently used internet shopping sites

 Update address on Magazine subscriptions (Notice requires several weeks)

 Notify friends and relatives of new address

 Interview moving companies / reserve moving truck

 Bank: transfer funds, arrange check-cashing in new city

 Insurance: notify new location for coverages - life, health, fire, auto

 Transfer of car title (if necessary), update driver's license

 Ask for copies of transfer of children's records

 Ask doctor and dentist for referrals; transfer needed prescriptions; eyeglasses, X-rays

 Transfer memberships for health club, social organizations

 Ask about regulations for licenses, vaccinations, tags, etc. for pets

      Don't Forget To:

 Empty freezer

 Defrost freezer-refrigerator

 Have appliances serviced for moving

 Call Cable Company and/or leave remote antenna equipment

 Clean rugs or clothing before moving

 Plan for special care needs of infants

      On Moving Day:

 Have currency handy

 Plan for transporting pets, plants and valuables

 Leave moving information, route and schedule with someone you trust

 Double-check closets, drawers and shelves to be sure they are empty

 Leave all old keys needed by the new homeowner or tenant with the owner or the Realtor
