The West Side of Providence is a wonderfully diverse neighborhood full of unique architecture and design. In an effort to showcase some of the most distinctive homes on the West Side, the West Broadway Neighborhood Association has partnered with the Providence Preservation Society to host the WBNA House Tour focusing on “Creative Conversions.”
On the tour, you will explore a spectrum of gorgeous properties both inside and out, including urban gardens, artist studios, an abandoned church, and a Victorian firehouse. All of the homes are close to Dexter Training Ground by the prominent Cranston Armory.
Take the tour on October 6th from 10AM-4PM. Tickets are $20 with discounts available for seniors, students, and military persons. The tour will begin at the Welcome Center at the Providence Hmong Church at 46 Dexter Street and continue through this one-of-a-kind neighborhood.
You may also purchase tickets to the preview party which will be held the night before on October 5th from 6 PM- 9 PM. Enjoy the Alfred T. Mansfield, one of the historic homes, and partake in food and refreshments with delightful locals and bid in the silent art auction.
You can purchase tickets for both nights at the website (HERE). Purchase tickets ahead of time to save money on the admission price.

Residential Properties Ltd recently announced the opening of a West Side Office (HERE) and is proud to be the lead sponsor for this event.
Residential Properties Ltd. is proud to announce the opening of a new office at 376 Broadway on the West Side of Providence, as well as the addition of four experienced Realtors® in Jane Driver, Joe Roch, Kevin Darrow, and Joe Elliott.
Since opening its first office in 1981, Residential Properties Ltd. has quickly grown to become Rhode Island’s largest independent real estate brokerage. Today, the company is comprised of over 180 agents and now has a total of six office locations.
“It has been a dream of mine for years to expand to the West Side of Providence,” remarks RPL President and CEO, Sally Lapides. “It is an area filled with fabulous architecture, delicious restaurants, and hip people.”
To staff the new office, RPL has hired four experienced Realtor’s with extensive knowledge of the local area.
“Jane Driver, Joe Roch, Kevin Darrow, and Joe Elliott have deep roots in the community,” explains Lapides. “They live there and have worked there for years. Our professional real estate advisors, as well as our marketing, are what differentiate us. I look forward to many years of working alongside them and engaging with the community.”
When asking the agents about their recent transition, Joe Roch was eager to express his excitement. “It’s an incredible honor, not only to join Residential Properties, but to also be opening up a brand new office in my home market on the West Side of Providence,” says Roch. “I’m even more thrilled to be making this move with my dear friends and colleagues.”
Among those friends and colleagues is Realtor® Kevin Darrow, who shared Roch’s enthusiasm for the new office. “There’s so much untapped potential across 1-95,” Darrow explains. “I think the committed presence of Residential Properties in that part of town (MY part of town!) will help encourage the already burgeoning growth and development from Broadway to the Armory to Elmwood to Roger Williams Park.”
Darrow went on to say that he is “super excited about all the resources that Residential Properties offers its sales agents, including access to top notch photographers, home staging, and marketing, not to mention relocation services, referral services, and an army of super helpful and knowledgeable administrative staff.”

Jane Driver is very passionate about Providence real estate. She has built a successful career helping people buy and sell homes since the year 2000. Her main focus is the West Side of Providence, the Armory District, and Historic Elmwood. She is a dedicated and honest agent who loves what she does. When she is not assisting clients she is probably working in her garden, fixing up her house, or baking a pie.
Joe Roch is a third generation Realtor® and appraiser hailing from Coventry. Joe’s passion for the visual and performing arts has found an unexpected — and incredibly fulfilling — second life working with Rhode Island’s historic properties. He wholeheartedly believes that our historic homes and neighborhoods are works of art that deserve our preservation and protection. Joe has sat on the board of the West Broadway Neighborhood Association since 2014, where he is co-chair of the Historic House Tour.
Kevin Darrow brings his focused energy and careful attention to all his clients, whether they are seasoned buyers and sellers or first-time homeowners. For years Kevin has helped plan and organize neighborhood groups in an effort to assist neighbors in helping one another. He believes there is nothing better for a community than the fresh zeal and energy that new home owners bring to a neighborhood.
Joe Elliott has been in love with houses, historic preservation, and community development for over 35 years, and proudly brings this passion to Residential Properties Ltd. Joe started his career in real estate in the early 80s. Joe brings with him an excellent knowledge of all the areas of Providence. He enjoys focusing on the Mt Pleasant, Elmhurst, West End, and Elmwood neighborhoods.
