This past week at the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Residential Properties Ltd. became the proud recipient of the First Place Award for Best Video Marketing among companies of between 101-500 agents.
Competing against brokerages from nearly 70 countries around the globe, Residential Properties Ltd. was able to distinguish themselves by producing a wide range of videos, including listing tours, community spotlights, company branding pieces, market updates, agent bios, and more. “Our commitment to marketing properties has always been fresh and creative,” explains RPL President & CEO Sally Lapides. “Video differentiates us from our competitors, providing buyers with the experience of a guided tour of a property, while offering sellers an opportunity for far more engaging exposure.”
The RPL Marketing & Technology Department is currently comprised of eight full-time employees, including Videographers Justin Hebert, Peter Amylon, and Neil Guliano, as well as Copywriter Eddy Giorgi, Technology Lead James LeGeros, Computer Support Specialist Tayana Anaya, Photographer Chris Whirlow, and Manager Stephen Readey. Lapides was quick to express her appreciation for the department, saying “I am so proud of our extraordinary team for being recognized as the best in video marketing at the annual conference of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World.”
As part of a global network connecting buyers and sellers around the world, RPL’s use of video allows potential clients to research communities and tour available listings from anywhere on the planet. Incorporating video into its marketing, along with professional photography, independent property websites, aerial footage, floor plans, staging, and more, has assisted Residential Properties Ltd. in becoming Rhode Island’s top producing brokerage, recording more sales and more gross volume than any other company in the state for three consecutive years (Providence Business News Book of Lists).
Currently, Residential Properties has nearly 1,500 videos available on its website. To view this extensive video library, please visit ResidentialProperties.com/Videos.

Every week we are seeing more signs of sustained growth in the Real Estate Market. Nationally, NAR’s October Pending Home Sales Index was up 13.2% from last year marking the 18th consecutive month of annual increases, and October housing starts were at their highest level in four years, marking improvement in residential construction.
The latest figures from The Rhode Island Association of Realtors show single family home prices rose 10% in October compared to the same period in 2011; this is the first monthly increase since May 2011. Sales were up 24% from last October, marking the 16th month of increased sales. Distressed sales fell to 21% of total sales down from 25% last month. The Condominium and Multifamily sectors saw increases in both sales and prices.
While this is great news, it is little comfort to people trying to sell their homes, so how do you differentiate your home in the marketplace? Ninety-eight percent of home buyers who searched for a home online say that photos were among the most useful features of real-estate websites. Make sure your Realtor takes quality professional photos and better yet take it a step further and have a video made. We have been partnering with Wellcomemat, the nation’s leading video platform for over a year now and have just posted our 200th video on our site.
