I would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2017 RPL Summer Photo Contest and helped make it such a success. Thank you to all of our agents who took the time out of their busy schedules to take photos and enter submissions. Thank you to all of our friends on Facebook for reviewing our finalists and casting their votes. And thank you to everyone who shared the contest album with their friends and family. As a result of your participation, this year’s summer photo contest reached over 5,300 people on social media and introduced our page to a wide audience of new followers.
The 2017 RPL Summer Photo Contest featured a collection of five evenly matched finalists. In fact, the top four finalists each finished within less than 25 votes of one another. Despite some other photos jumping out to an early lead, one photo steadily gained votes throughout the weekend and eventually overtook all others to emerge with an even 100 votes. I am pleased to announce that the winner of the 2017 RPL Summer Photo Contest is “Sailboats on the River” taken by RPL Sales Associate Claudia Maiorana. A member of The Friedman Real Estate Group in our Barrington Office, this was Claudia’s first time ever entering the RPL Photo Contest. With her win, Claudia will receive a free website and video package. Congratulations Claudia!

The Spring season is always something to look forward to for Rhode Islanders. The last bits of snow finally melt away, the flowers start to bloom, the boats come out of storage, and the PawSox return to McCoy. This year, low temperatures and wet weather put a slight damper on things, but that didn’t stop our agents from capturing some terrific shots for the 2017 RPL Spring Photo Contest.
As always, I would like to thank everyone who made this contest such a success, including all the agents who entered submissions and all of our friends on Facebook who took the time to cast their votes. This year’s Spring Photo Contest was viewed by nearly 6,200 people on Facebook, receiving a total of 327 “Likes.”
The contest was highlighted by a dramatic comeback. Despite falling behind by nearly 20 votes during the early going, our eventual winner stormed back over the weekend to finish with almost 20 more votes than the next closest competitor. As the only entry to receive over 100 votes, I am proud to announce “WaterFire Sunset” taken by Cumberland Sales Associate, Kimberly Horvath as the winner of the 2017 RPL Spring Photo Contest. Kimberly’s photo captured a beautiful sunset reflecting on the water of the Providence River, while showcasing a group of playful ducks in the foreground, as well as the recognizable Providence skyline beyond the river. Also the winner of this year’s RPL Winter Photo Contest, this marks Kimberly’s second consecutive contest win. Congratulations to Kimberly Horvath, who will receive a free property video and website for her winning photo.

Now in its 10th year of existence, the RPL Photo Contest has always served as the perfect vehicle for capturing the essence of our beautiful state as we enjoy the annual procession of the seasons. The 2017 RPL Winter Photo Contest continued this legacy, as our agents entered a terrific collection of submissions showcasing familiar local destinations covered by a blanket of freshly fallen snow.
As always, I’d like to thank everyone who made this season’s contest such a success, including everyone who entered a submission, each of our six finalists, and most of all, our friends on Facebook who took the time to submit their vote and share the contest with family and friends. With your help, this year’s winter contest was viewed by over 5,000 people, receiving 42 shares and a total of 364 votes.
While all of our finalists deserve praise, two particular photos separated themselves from the pack, each receiving over 115 votes. These two entries kept pace with each other throughout a busy weekend of public voting, but when the dust finally settled and all the votes were tallied, only one would emerge as the winner.
We’re proud to announce that the winner of the 2017 RPL Winter Photo Contest is India Point Sunset by Cumberland Sales Associate Kimberly Horvath. Kimberly’s photo captured snow covered trees and wintery docks set before a radiating pink and orange sunset reflecting off the waters of the Providence Harbor. Congratulations to Kimberly who will receive a free property video and website as her contest prize.
