Summertime in Rhode Island is always a special time of year, when people throughout New England flock to enjoy our beautiful beaches, cool down with an ice cold Del’s lemonade, and dine on lobster rolls, chowder, and clam cakes. The RPL Photo Contest aims to celebrate these Rhode Island summers by highlighting stunning images throughout the state.
A sincere thank you goes out to each of our agents who submitted an entry to the contest, as well as all of our friends on Facebook for casting their votes and helping us decided a winner.
After narrowing the field down to five finalists, the contest reached nearly 6,000 people on Facebook, resulting in over 400 total votes. Entering the weekend with four finalists neck-and-neck, one particular photo finally broke free from the rest of the field and emerged as the overwhelming favorite.
It is my pleasure to announce that the winner of the 2018 RPL Summer Photo Contest is RPL Providence Sales Associate, Rich Epstein with his aerial photo of the Beavertail Lighthouse in Jamestown. Rich’s photo captured a birds eye view of the iconic lighthouse illuminated by the day’s final rays of summer sun. The photo received a total of 137 votes, finishing as the only finalist to top 100 votes. Congratulations to Rich on winning the grand prize of a free property video and website package.

This year, the spring season got off to an unusually late start. However, the shortened season didn’t prevent our agents from capturing a wide array of beautiful submissions for our photo contest. I’d like to thank all of those agents who took the time out of their schedules, especially during such a busy spring market, to visit some of their favorite Rhode Island locations and capture a shot for our photo contest. I would also like to thank all of our wonderful friends on Facebook who submitted their votes and helped us with the tough task of selecting a winner.
Overall, your participation and engagement helped us reach nearly 5,500 people on Facebook and resulted in over 500 votes. The voting got off to a slow start, but finished with a flurry of activity until one finalist finally pulled away from the pack.
It is my pleasure to announce that the winner of the 2018 RPL Spring Photo Contest is RPL Providence Sales Associate, Barbara Dacey with her photo of the “Boots on the Ground” memorial at Roger Williams Park during Memorial Day Weekend. Barbara’s photo respectfully captured the approximately 7,000 boots adorned with American flags and name placards to honor the brave men and women who were killed in action post 9/11 in the War on Terror. The photo received a total of 188 votes, as well as 25 comments, many remarking on the bittersweet, yet beautiful nature of the image. Congratulations to Barbara on her winning photo.
