This year, the spring season got off to an unusually late start. However, the shortened season didn’t prevent our agents from capturing a wide array of beautiful submissions for our photo contest. I’d like to thank all of those agents who took the time out of their schedules, especially during such a busy spring market, to visit some of their favorite Rhode Island locations and capture a shot for our photo contest. I would also like to thank all of our wonderful friends on Facebook who submitted their votes and helped us with the tough task of selecting a winner.

Overall, your participation and engagement helped us reach nearly 5,500 people on Facebook and resulted in over 500 votes. The voting got off to a slow start, but finished with a flurry of activity until one finalist finally pulled away from the pack.

It is my pleasure to announce that the winner of the 2018 RPL Spring Photo Contest is RPL Providence Sales Associate, Barbara Dacey with her photo of the “Boots on the Ground” memorial at Roger Williams Park during Memorial Day Weekend. Barbara’s photo respectfully captured the approximately 7,000 boots adorned with American flags and name placards to honor the brave men and women who were killed in action post 9/11 in the War on Terror. The photo received a total of 188 votes, as well as 25 comments, many remarking on the bittersweet, yet beautiful nature of the image.  Congratulations to Barbara on her winning photo. We’re pleased to award you with the grand prize of a free property video and website package.

Martha Lapierre 2018Residential Properties Ltd. is proud to announce that Sales Associate Martha Lapierre has rejoined the company as a member of their Cumberland Office. Martha is a native Rhode Islander who has worked in all areas of the real estate industry for over 25 years. Martha recently sat down with us to discuss her recent return to the Ocean State and reuniting with Residential Properties.

What was it that drew you back to Rhode Island?

First and foremost, it was my family and friends, but it was also all the other people that live here and help to create our unique Rhode Island & New England culture. Being raised in Lincoln and Cumberland, I appreciate the ability to explore our beautiful coastline, hike our hilly woodlands and scenic bike paths, or enjoy some of the best culinary experiences in the country.

After working for other companies, what sets RPL apart and makes it such a unique brokerage?

I’d say the personal interest, caring, and connection of the people who work for RPL is very different. The level of cooperation and consideration between agents elevates your success in the field. It’s great having the ability to reach out to anyone, from the CEO to the COO to the managers and to the wonderful administrators. Immediate attention and response from within is unsurpassed and seldom exists in other agencies. Your success as an agent is their success as a company.

In what ways, if any, did living and working in another state make you a better Realtor?

Creating a new client base and real estate career in another state takes ingenuity, confidence, perseverance and tapping into all the experience you’ve acquired in the field and applying that to a new environment. Starting a career in a new area required me to utilize all the tools and experience I’ve acquired over the years.

What are you excited about most going forward?

After being away for three years and working for a franchise agency, I am thrilled to find that RPL has maintained the highest level of integrity that I remember. I appreciate that the company is a proponent in keeping up and educating its agents in the importance of technology and digital marketing. I am also very excited to rejoin my community and help our friends, neighbors, and new acquaintances achieve their real estate goals.

What are some of your future goals as a member of Residential Properties?

Creating a happy experience while meeting my client’s highest expectations is always my goal.

Do you have any additional comments regarding your recent return, our company, or the real estate industry in general?

I am happy to be back with my RPL family and living in RI with the quality of support, agents and management of Residential Properties Ltd.
