According to a research report produced by REAL Trends, this group of the nation’s 500 largest residential real estate brokerage firms closed over 3.2 million residential sales transactions in 2017. These transactions represent approximately one-third of all new and resale transactions completed by brokers during the year, yet the REAL Trends 500 represented less than one-half of one percent of all brokerage firms.

Residential Properties Ltd. is proud to announce the addition of Sales Associate Rachael Dotson as the newest member of their Providence Office. Rachael is a multi-talented Realtor® and viewed as one of the industry’s rising stars. We recently sat down with Rachael to learn more about her past history and future aspirations.
Could you explain a little about the path that led you to RPL?
I moved to Providence in 2013 from the Seattle area with our two children for my husband’s engineering career. I have an art and design background, and had been working throughout Washington State developing a public arts program. My experience with economic development and teaching in the arts is a tremendous help in real estate; as my approach is both information-driven, and hands-on. I began my real estate career upon moving to Rhode Island, and I could not be happier! This has been a fantastic career switch for me; and I feel lucky to spend my time with people making such important life choices, like buying-and-selling a home.
How do you feel this move will positively impact your career?
I began my real estate career as part of a successful team, and that business model accelerated my learning curve tremendously. My transfer to Residential Properties as an individual agent will expedite that growth as this company continues to lead the Rhode Island real estate industry. I am thrilled to bring my unique, client-centered approach to the growing real estate market through the Residential Properties office – it’s a great fit for both the company and myself!
What was it that made you want to join this company?
I decided to make this move because my interactions with other RPL agents in the field have shown me that this company dedicates maximum effort to their clients, and to maintaining their success as Rhode Island’s leading brokerage office. I want to be a part of a company that has their eye on the future of Rhode Island real estate and sets their goals accordingly.
What are you excited about most going forward?
The training and support which Residential Properties offers its agents is truly superior. I am looking forward to improving my best-practices while working with a company which values my experience and opinions as a business person, working mother, and creative-minded person.
What are some things you would like to accomplish as a member of Residential Properties?
As a West-Coast transplant, I have found many wonderful communities throughout the state which aren’t often highlighted. I intend to bring my fresh perspective and sense of discovery to the company, and be able to better connect with the evolving home-buyer profile. I love taking clients out to tour neighborhoods and towns they had not heard of or considered before. There is real satisfaction for me in helping my clients be as informed about their options as they can be during the discovery process, and helping them represent their home or neighborhood.
Is there anything else you would like to share with us regarding your recent move, our company, or the real estate industry in general?
This is such an exciting time to be a part of the real estate industry, especially for buyers and sellers! They have access to more information than ever before, and the savvy and competitive nature of the current market means I can help my clients make informed choices while achieving their real estate goals. I feel the most important aspect of my work is to create opportunities for my clients’ success and happiness.
