Born in August 1963 in Barrington, Rhode Island Michael’s first job was at the age of ten working to build houses in his fathers and grandfathers construction companies. For the next seven years he built single family, multi-family, and apartment complexes learning everything from foundation pouring to roofing.
Following two years at Clarke University in Worcester, Massachusetts he moved to Albany New York when an opportunity to open his own collectible and used book store opened up in 1982. It was here in 1983 that he purchased his first multi-use property with a storefront and two rental apartments. In 1987 he sold his store and the building he owned to move back to Rhode Island and settled in Narragansett, where he summered as a child.
In 1988 he opened another collectible and used book store in North Kingstown which today is run by his wife of twenty-three years, Julie. Since 1988 Michael has bought and sold numerous rental houses both for himself and other family members as well as spending 1995 to 2005 as a property manager of seven houses for Seaview Cliffs Incorporated in Saunderstown, Rhode Island. He currently owns one rental property but is always on the lookout for more.
Michael currently resides in Narragansett with his wife and two teenage sons Zachary and Daniel. He enjoys a wide diversity of movies but is partial to the 1940’s and 1950’s, reading, bowling, football slightly over baseball, and prefers his PS4 to his wife’s Xbox1 which provides a constant source of consternation in his house. His sons refuse to take sides.
