DeRentis joined Residential Properties LTD. in 2009 after a successful 25 year career in financial services. He was named Rookie of the Year in 2010 by The Greater Providence Board of Realtors and has continually earned the distinguished Platinum Plus Sales distinction for sales volume. DeRentis has also been recognized as one of “America’s Best Realtors” by Real Trends and was recently featured on the cover of Top Realtor Magazine’s RI edition. DeRentis has been the top producing sales agent at Residential Properties LTD since 2015.
Prior to Residential Properties LTD, DeRentis served as the chief business officer of Bank Rhode Island, where he oversaw all touch points with the Bank’s customers, driving an innovative delivery approach that integrated business and retail banking operations. He spearheaded the development of the creative platform for the Bank’s branding and marketing efforts, establishing its strong commercial presence in the marketplace. Under his direction, Bank Rhode Island established a personal investment operation (BARI investment) and launched a private bank business. DeRentis started his banking career in 1985 working in both Providence and West Palm Beach, FL.
DeRentis has been an avid real estate investor and developer since 1987 having bought, sold, and developed over two dozen properties largely on the City’s East and West Sides. A self-described “Real Estate Junkie” he understands the risks and rewards of real estate ownership. A College Hill Resident, DeRentis knows the City’s 25 neighborhoods well and has a strong appreciation for the rich diversity that makes Providence The Creative Capital of New England.
DeRentis currently serves as Chair of The Providence Redevelopment Authority. For 25 years, DeRentis has been involved with a variety of Providence community organizations including SWAP, WBNA, AIDS Care Ocean State, Providence Preservation Society, Trinity Repertory Company, and the Perishable Theater Advisory Board.
DeRentis holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant University and a Masters of Business Administration from Providence College.
