Ian Barnacle joined Residential Properties in 2007, beginning his real estate career as a sales associate in the Providence office. As a third-generation realtor and son of Residential Properties founder/CEO, Sally Lapides, Ian grew up immersed in Rhode Island real estate. Leveraging his local knowledge, his love for his home town, and his personal connections, Ian’s passion for real estate blossomed.
In 2010, after a number of years as a top producer on Providence’s East Side, Ian was selected to take over as Broker/Manager for Residential Properties’ Barrington office. That same year, Ian was recognized as one of Realtor Magazine’s 30 Under 30 nationwide.
Ian’s primary focus as Broker/Manager is to empower agents to succeed, train and mentor agents of all experience levels, expand the office team of superior talent, stay informed of industry trends, and lead by example in community involvement. Ian serves on the Greater Providence Board of Realtors Grievance Committee and as a board member of Providence Preservation Society. Ian was past president of the Fox Point Neighborhood Association.
Ian attended Gordon School, Wheeler School, and The Mountain School of Milton Academy. He graduated from Hampshire College with a BA in English and Landscape and Architectural Photography. He currently resides in historic Fox Point in Providence, RI with his Goldendoodle Finn. His passions include frequent visits to Little Compton, RI, any outdoor activity, travel, gardening, and cooking for friends and family.
