Sally Lapides is president of Residential Properties Ltd., which she co-founded with former partner Liz Chace in 1981. She acquired majority ownership of the firm in 1997, and under her leadership, Residential Properties has become one of the state's premier real estate companies. With over 150 full-time sales associates, Residential Properties has offices in Providence, Barrington, Cumberland, East Greenwich, Narragansett and Newport, as well as Relocation office now located in Providence. The Company is a founding member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, the country's largest network of leading independent residential real estate firms.
Sally serves or has served as a Trustee on the boards of Roger Williams University, Trinity Repertory Company, the Newport International Film Festival, GAIA (Global Alliance to Immunize Against Aids) and Providence Country Day School. She was the former Chair of the Board at The Gordon School.
She is additionally chair of the Rhode Island Foundation's Equity Action Campaign Committee. She is also a member of the Board of Governors for the RISD Museum and a committee member for the Women & Infants Hospital Celebrity Luncheon.
As an expert in the field, she is often quoted in the Providence Journal, Providence Business News, WJAR, Channel 12 News, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
She grew up in Barrington, Rhode Island with parents who taught her the importance of giving back to the community. Her Company mission is to provide professional, insightful expertise in all aspects of the real estate business. She is consistently involved in the communities where she has offices and works diligently on behalf of the organizations that bring culture and charity to the lives of Rhode Islanders. She is a graduate of Boston University with a B.A. in Art History. She is married to the man of her dreams, Arthur P. Solomon, and has two sons, Ian and Emmett Barnacle.
